JALARAM 2023 AARTI THALI AND RANGOLI
February 3, 2024Jalaram Bapa's teachings revolved around the fundamental values of truth, honesty, and simplicity. He advocated for the unity of all religions and emphasized that the path to God lies in selfless service and love for humanity. Inspired by his philosophy, the Shree Jalaram Satsang Mandal initiated the Jalaram Chakula Programme in 2007, dedicated to feeding the poor and needy children from the Nairobi Slums.
Every school day from Monday to Friday, the Shree Jalaram Satsang Mandal provides meals to approximately 4,500 school children under the Anndaan - Jalaram Chakula Programme. What began with a humble effort to assist a few needy individuals at the temple premises has now expanded to encompass three schools in the greater Nairobi area. These include institutions in Kangemi area of Nairobi, Kihumbuini mixed Primary, Secondary, and Nursery School, Anand Marga Academy (Primary, Secondary, and Nursery School), and Oasis Mix Primary, Secondary, and Nursery.
The food prepared for these children adheres to the highest standards of hygiene and is freshly made each morning at the temple premises before being transported to the schools. Many of these school children come from impoverished families, and for some, this meal may be their only sustenance for the day.
The Jalaram Chakula Programme stands as one of our signature projects, not only reflecting the teachings of Jalaram Bapa but also ensuring that thousands of needy children receive a decent meal, providing them with a sense of security and relief from the uncertainty of where their next meal will come from.
The success and continuity of the Jalaram Chakula Programme are made possible through the generous support of donors from the Jalaram Mandal community and individuals from far and wide who appreciate the dedication and transparency of the Samaj in serving the needy. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors and pray for the blessings of Jalaram Bapa upon them. For those who would like to be part of this Anndhan programme it would be important to note that you can feed a child for an entire year with a humble amount of Kshs 7’500/= per child per year.
